Nick Gibbard grew up in Falmouth, achieved a degree in technical illustration from Cornwall Technical College and specialised in illustrating aerial maps. His first map was of Falmouth and 30 years later it has been updated and reproduced as the official free town guide as well as displayed in all Falmouth public areas.
Over the years Nick has made a living from selling the popular Postermap of Oxford and South West Cornwall as well as commissioned maps for The Crown Estate, The Royal Parks and recently The Royal Horticultural Society.
Since the 1990's, living in London, Oxford and North Devon, Nick is now back in his hometown of Falmouth and has opened the doors to his working studio as a gallery to showcase his collection of personal artwork. His work includes drawings, paintings and prints ranging from technical to abstract, landscapes, still life, cartoons to nudes.
By visiting the studio you will be offered a unique insight into the many influential styles Nick has explored and an opportunity to purchase original artwork and limited edition prints. Giclée prints of any piece of artwork, at any size are available on heavyweight paper framed with or without glass, or on lighter large stretched canvas frames.
Also available for sale is a colourful selection of ceramics produced by his mother, Eileen Gibbard.
Marine Gallery is located in Marine Crescent near to the car park for the National Maritime Museum and is open daily all year round.
